Volunteer with Storm Surge
The success of Storm Surge can be attributed to its dedicated staff of volunteers. Some are business people; others are writers, scientists, educators, including retirees and concerned citizens who come from all walks of life.
We hold the common belief that something needs to be done about our changing climate and that there has to be a better way to manage climate related impacts rather than simply reacting to problems in disaster mode.
If you have an interest in climate change and would like to help your community adapt to its effects, including sea level rise, we could use your help.
The amount of time and how you’d like to help is up to you.
Some people serve regularly on committees while others step in to help out with specific projects. We’d welcome whatever skill and time that you could contribute!
Volunteer and Intern Opportunities:
Board of Directors: As a member of our Board, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Storm Surge. Your insights, expertise, and leadership will directly contribute to our mission. This is a unique chance to be part of a team that is committed to making a difference in the lives of Newburyport. New board members start with a 1 year term.
Speaker Series: Help us plan the events for our well loved Speaker Series. You can help research topics, solicit speakers, help with publicity, or help the day of the event. We welcome your ideas.
